Arsenal News: Injury Update + Chambers Signs New Deal

INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF WATFORD

Unfortunately, our players were not spared by the international break as we go to Vickrage Road this weekend with seven players out injured. 

Most notably, Shkodran Mustafi picked up an injury with the German national side, which leaves us very short at the back. Another defender who is still out is Laurent Koscienly as he had that achilles injury that kept him out against Brighton, but there are reports that he might be available for the weekend's game, but I highly doubt it. 

Santi Cazorla is still out and I have no clue if we're even going to see him feature for the rest of the season. Calum Chambers is also still out, but the good news is that Ozil, Welbeck, and Coquelin are moving closer to being fit enough to play, which should be any day now.

CALUM CHAMBERS SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

ARSENAL

The 22 year old has just signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2021, the club has confirmed. 

I'm hoping that he continues to progress because he looked great when he first came to the club and got minutes under his belt, but after his injuries and competition in the squad to fierce, he's never had the same impact. 

Chambers is a talented center-half who has a large amount of potential and we may even see him get more game time with both Koscienly and Mustafi out.
